William Cox is a non-profit leader, mentor and York-based businessman. He is a big advocate for trans rights and delivers training on how to work with the trans community. He has been involved in a wide range of organisations, including advising NHS England, the Guardian, The Sun, BBC & ITV television. He will be presenting on his experiences working with trans people and shining a light on the experiences of the people he works with and continues to support.

Victoria Nelson

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Founder & Director of Deaf4Deaf 
Victoria is a psychotherapeutic counsellor, in 2016, she founded a specialised Deaf counselling service: Deaf4Deaf counselling. The focus was on creating a service, that was, affordable, accessible and culturally and linguistically affirmative. She is a member of the equality and diversity committee at Metanoia Institute. She is passionate about deaf rights, equality, empowerment, and believes in the team & community effort to make deaf people heard and seen in the world.

Richard Knight

Integrative Counsellor 
York St John University
Richard Knight is a counsellor with lived experience of diversity through cultural and health aspects. Diagnosed later in life, he experiences widespread fatigue and chronic pain, due to pre-existing neurological / genetic disorders and learning/coordination disabilities. He is currently undertaking a PHD and working as a Clinical Lead, and associate tutor. He is passionate about accessibility, diversity, and promotion of inclusivity in academia and the profession.

Based on our skills and experiences we have developed workshops with the aim to address and challenge attitudes towards diversity. We have a particular interest in Race, Ethnicity and Culture.

We use our skills to facilitate experiential workshops to enable you to explore diversity and cultural issues and to help you gain competencies and confidence in being up to date with current diversity issues.

Naomi Ford

MBACP, BSc (Hons), PG.Dip.Couns, PTLLS
Naomi and is qualified Counsellor working in Higher Education with previous experiences working with the NHS, in Education and Young People. As a qualified trainer Naomi has experiences in developing and facilitating groups in self-esteem, anxiety and mindfulness. Naomi has mentored Black & Asian Counsellors and Psychotherapists through their training by supporting them in their work and with issues related to Race, Ethnicity and Culture.

Aneet Kaur Semhi

Counsellor MBACP (Accred) / Trainer
Aneet is a qualified Counsellor and is curious of how Racism is currently functioning in our society and how we as Counsellors and Helping Professionals are addressing Race and Racism. As a qualified trainer and experience in developing and facilitating groups in the NHS and various educational settings Aneet brings knowledge, skills and life experiences to the workshops with a drive to encourage learning and exploration of Race, Ethnicity and Culture.
